Current University of Illinois Student Transferring Colleges or Majors

If you’re already a student at Illinois, you may want to consider transferring into one of the majors offered by the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. Or, perhaps you are currently enrolled in the College of ACES and wish to change your major or your concentration within your major. The guidelines below outline the process for both inter and intra-collegiate transfers (ICTs).

In the College of ACES, ICT applicants work directly with the departments. Requirements and contacts can be found on the university's Changing My Major page.

The following majors have unique and specific application deadlines each semester:

The following majors* accept applications during ICT periods at the beginning of each semester and prior to the early registration period each semester

* Applicants interested in transferring into the major in Agricultural and Biological Engineering work with the Engineering Prep Program.

Students wishing to speak with an Academic Advisor in the ACES Department in which they would like to ICT and find contact information for those advisors HERE.

ACES ICT Informational Meetings:

The College of ACES will host ICT informational meetings for current Illinois undergraduates who will like more information on the college and our various majors and concentrations.  Due to covid-19 and Illinois moving instruction to online for the remainder of the SP20 term, ACES ICT Sessions will be conducted online. [SP20 ICT sessions have concluded]

ACES ICT Processing Dates:

The ACES Office of Academic Programs will only accept and process completed ICT forms during the following processing periods:

  • Effective Fall 2020:  Monday, August 17, 2020 to Friday, September 4, 2020
  • Effective Spring 2021:  Monday, October 19, 2020 to Friday, November 6, 2020
