Travel by Air

The University of Illinois is serviced by the University of Illinois Willard Airport (CMI) and two major carriers - American Airlines and Northwest Airlines.

CMI is located approximately 5 miles southwest of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. It offers a variety of ground transportation options including taxi service and onsite car rental available from Avis, Budget, Hertz, and National.

Other major airports within a 160-mile radius of Champaign-Urbana include: Chicago O'Hare (4 hour drive), Chicago Midway (3 1/2 hour drive), Bloomington, IL (45 minute drive), and Indianapolis (2 hour drive).

Travel by Car

Nearly all interviews coordinated by ACES Career Services will be held in the ACES Library, Information and Alumni Center (commonly referred to as the ACES Library). You will check-in at the ACES Student Development and Career Services Office in Room 115, ACES Library.

From I-74 - Take the Lincoln Avenue (exit 183) from I-74 in Champaign-Urbana. Travel south approximately 2.5 miles on Lincoln Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue and turn west (right). There is a stoplight at this intersection. Go straight through the next 3-way stop at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Dorner Drive. Go north (right) at next street which is Goodwin Avenue. Bear left at 3-way stop in front of greenhouses to park at meters reserved for you in the circle drive on south side of the ACES Library.

Campus Parking

Public metered parking near the ACES Library:

  • In Circle Drive on south side of ACES Library (Lot FS-5)
  • In Lot F-4 south of ACES Library; Lot F-4 is accessible from S. Goodwin Avenue
  • To the southeast of ACES Library, on Peabody Drive between Dorner Drive and Goodwin Avenue
  • In Lot F-28 on the east side of Turner Hall; Lot F-28 is accessible from Peabody Drive or Dorner Drive

Reserved parking for on-campus interviews:

Unless otherwise instructed, there will be reserved parking for you on the day of your interviews/recruiting event in the circle drive south of ACES Library. Park at the bagged meter reserved for your company/organization. If there are no spaces are available in the circle drive or your reserved space is taken, please park at any available public meter (see above). Please inform ACES Career Services staff of any parking problems.
